This is a magazine by Dutch graphic designer and publisher Willem van Zoetendaal, who has been producing photo books since the early 1990s, beginning with "Basalt" in 1994 and continuing to publish excellent books today as "Van Zoetendaal Publishers".

This magazine is the first issue published under the name "Basalt". 
The second issue was published in 2000, after which the magazine ceased publication. 
It is a magazine made up entirely of photographs, which is something that is rarely seen these days. (text MACK)
