The banal exhibition catalogue, inaugurating a practice that would mark the path of various Arte Povera artists, becomes a work of art. The exhibition with Franco Toselli at the Galleria de Nieubourg (in Via Borgonuovo in Milan) is the opportunity for a modest-looking catalog (small format, typographical cover, black and white printing) which announces some usual characteristics of publishing in the Seventies . Having canceled the characteristic critical text, the editorial apparatus of the catalog and the emphasis of the language, the sculptures are reproduced with deliberately harsh images, of low graphic quality and with an essential caption: title, year, size. Only fragments of the work, the part for the whole, sufficient to convey to the reader and visitor of the exhibition the meanings of the works on display; the process of information rarefaction begins in favor of the poetic use of editorial tools.” (Maffei 2007).
