Susanne Kriemann
The book is the result of two exhibitions by Susanne Kriemann at Arnolfini in Bristol and the Kunstverein Braunschweig and presents an extensive overview of the work of the German-born photographer.
Archival images frequently serve as a starting point for Kriemann’s own images, which both address the circumstances in which the historical images were produced, as well as their link to the present day — and always also examine her own medium of photography.
The exhibition in Bristol began with research into the Construction School, which existed in Bristol between 1964-1979 as part of the West of England College of Art and Design. The book documents the exhibition, as well as the photographic works themselves.
