The images are a documentation of mending on textile out of the collection of antique store Martinos in Athens.
Repair (y) is part of a series of work about repairing with a literal and metaphorical sense.

On editions of the Greek newspaper ‘I Kathimerini’ from the years of the crisis, patterns inspired from the textile collection of the antique store are embroidered. This is an attempt to bring a balance between all these problematic daily news with some elements of culture that the country still produces.

Repair (y) maakt deel uit van een serie werken rond het begrip verstellen in letterlijke en metaforische zin.

Rondom het begrip verstellen zijn een serie werken gemaakt met als titel ‘Repair on News’. Op edities van de Griekse krant ‘I Kathimerini’ uit de periode van de crisis (2009 - heden) zijn patronen geborduurd geïnspireerd op de borduursels uit de textielcollectie van de antiekzaak, in een poging om de problematische berichtgeving van het dagelijkse nieuws opsymbolische wijze te compenseren met fragmenten uit de cultuur die het land ook produceert.
