Henk Tas (1948) and Rick Vermeulen (1950) are artists and designers with an international reputation in the field of photography and design. They have put together a Christmas exhibition especially for walgenbach art & books in which visual art and music meet.

Henk and Rick have been buddies since their time at the Academy of Fine Arts. Pop music plays a dominant role in their lives and work. This is visible in Henk’s staged photography, but music is also a source of inspiration in their joint projects, which translates into special exhibitions and publications. Like the magazine ‘Kentucky’ that they made from the late eighties to the late nineties about the Everly Brothers. In close collaboration, the monograph ‘Why me Lord’ with Henk’s photography was published in 2001. Due to Rick’s striking design, the book was selected by the CPNB Foundation in 2001 as one of the ‘Best Dutch Book Designs’,

Their shared passion for music is also the basis of the Christmas exhibition XMAS MUSIC & TYPE. Henk has been making a compilation CD with Christmas songs for friends for 22 years. During the opening of the exhibition, a CD entitled – . The title is taken from a 1955 hit by Ricky Zahnd and The Blue Jeaners. This CD is a compilation of the past 22 years. And… visitors to the exhibition won’t be able to say they didn’t get anything for Christmas!
